Well the car runs better but the timing is still off by 30 or so degrees. i found the front O2 sensor snipped for some reason so i reconnected that and i verified that the wires were all solid connection and they were.so them i went through every wire in the ecu to see if it was connected ok. fixed it and it solved the idling rough problem. Ok so i worked on it yesterday and found a few things wrong. but i'm confused and i need help.l really need some help with this cuz i really dont know how to fix it any suggestions would be great i'm gonna have a mechanic look at it with hopes of getting this thing to work right. One thing i didnt do was reset the computer when i put the motor in. So I changes the distributor and the coil and same result. My a/f ration is at 13-14 but sometimes goes lean and sometimes goes rich at idle and my fpr gauge says 40 psi w/ vacuum which is ok but sometimes would die down to 30 or so. i got it to do 20* btdc but it still is idling horrible and misfireing. Well so i then looseded the distributor and turned way past to compensate. Well with the use of a timing gun i checked the timing and it is when the distribution is set at tdc the timing gun shows my that is it past the notches on the crank pulley about 20 degrees which means its about 40 degrees btdc. engine reving up on start up (fixed, bent the bracket that holds throttle cables)ģ. Ok well this weekend i installed the motor and got the car running.
